Genova, 2020. During a night shrouded in the Caligo — the city’s characteristic low sea fog — twelve-year-old Marta disappears before her family’s eyes. Her body is found on a cliff, like those of other children who vanished in previous leap years.

Convinced she witnessed the ghost responsible, she turns to Jaco Boskov, an ambiguous Rom medium and occult investigator. Meanwhile, the rational Inspector Lena Parodi investigates a possible serial killer, setting all three on a collision course over opposing visions of reality.
Quattro anni dopo, Sara è consumata dal trauma e vive una vita autodistruttiva. Convinta di aver visto il fantasma responsabile della morte di Marta, si affida a Jaco Boskov, un ambiguo medium e investigatore dell’occulto. The investigation reveals a disturbing pattern: thirteen victims, all born on 29 February. But during a séance, Sara and Jaco count fourteen. The discovery of two hidden skeletons in an underwater cave — a woman and a child — surfaces a forgotten case from the 1960s.
